motivation? desire? ugh.

Here I am, midnight the night before my final research paper is due, hitting up against the most durable wall of writer's block. So frustrating ... I know what I want to say, I have the research, but I can't seem to formulate a sentence...oh dear.

My Book-List Review

"Taste 4 chaos: Autobiographic journals of an uncommon speed freak". Dr. Paul S. Sussman
A great read!! Thick book, but easy to read, and hard to put down!! A recovering "speed freak" shares his story of addiction, academic pursuit, recovery, and assisting others in their healing and recovery.

"The heroin diaries: A year in the life of a shattered rock star". Nikki Sixx with Ian Gitting
Another amazing bio!! Unsettling at times, but such great insight into the real thoughts and experiences of this amazingly talented musician.

"The smart cookies' guid to making more dough and getting out of debt" The smart cookies.
A great "financial advising" book for young women who seem to be able to manage their lives on every level except for the financial. I'm only about a chapter in, as I've gotten stuck on one of the assignments.

"The art of happiness in a troubled world" His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler, MD.
So far so good. Only a few chapters in as my "fun" reading got derailed during midterms last semester. Makes some great points of how society is changing and leading to general unrest and unhappiness.

"This is it: The nature of oneness" Jan Kersschot.
Honestly, not recommending it. Usually even if I don't really enjoy the book I can stay motivated to read it, but with this one it's not the case. I do enjoy it as it's an existential/philosophical text about how to simply "be", but not one that's keeping me interested.

"The kind diet: A simiple guid to feeling great, losing weight, and saving the planet" Alicia Silverstone.
A great book!! Provides evidence to support the diet (as with everything, take with a "grain of salt") but also provides recipes and foods to substitute when you'd normally use meat/dairy products!! Something often lacking in these special diet books!!

"Serial killers: Norotious killers who lived among us" William Murray.
Great for anyone interested in deviance and psychopathology. A brief historical bio of these serial killers. Not overly graphic, all in all a good read.
